Obituary
Boo IV (T.Nugent Courvoisie Ducker)
Former Citadel Mascot
Boo IV (T.Nugent Courvoisie Ducker) named after the beloved Colonel Courvoisie of the Citadel Military College, passed away in his sleep, Nov. 7, 2011. Born June 4, 2002, Boo IV had a wonderful 9 ½ years with his owners Fred and Dona Ducker. He was just a wee 14 weeks old when he replaced the aging Boo III as the Citadel Mascot for the 2002 football season. His reign as mascot however was short-lived, because in 2003, Boo IV sired his first litter and gave the Citadel a puppy to live on campus. This puppy (Boo IX) is still one of the mascots and lives on campus with Mike Groshon. During the 2003 football season, Boo IV met celebrities such as Ted Turner and Sean Connery. Boo IV was also the mascot for the Citadel Stray Dog Society and the signature logo of the Stray Dogs was based on a photo of Boo IV. Boo IV was also quite the ladies-man and sired 3 litters (12 pups) with Penelope his first Dam. And he just sired a litter of 8 pups with his new Dam Rose (Rosa’s Girl) on Oct. 25, 2011. Boo IV left behind many offspring so the lineage of “The Boo” will continue. We will miss you Boo IV.
