OBJECTIVES OF ORGANIZATION
The Stray Dog Society envisions itself as a multifaceted organization uniquely
positioned to bring strong and direct support to various parts of The Citadel.
Because The Stray Dog Society is in no way connected to any portion of the
school or the administration, as such, it will be free to carry out aggressive
fund raising functions that otherwise would not happen. Other strong points of
the Stray Dog Society will be the social and fraternal aspects with unique and
exciting functions held for the entertainment of the membership who share a fun
spirit and interest in perhaps being more dynamic in various endeavors. What is a Stray
Dog?
A Stray Dog is typically a non-conformist who holds the Citadel in high regard. A Stray Dog is
a willing maverick,
someone who is fun loving and sometimes irreverent. A Stray Dog is one who has
constantly tested the limits of the established, conventional system at The
Citadel, and/or in their life pursuits.
A Stray Dogs proactively seeks and develops their own playground (possibly
outrageous) to celebrate and enjoy the community of other Stray Dogs. Stray
Dog’s activities and entertainment events strongly honor, and financially
support The Citadel.
Collective Vision
Recognize the special, independent/interdependent, and courageous essence of
past and present Citadel Stray Dogs.
Further clearly define, and respect ‘what is a Stray Dog’, and the greater good
that all true Stray Dogs represent.
The Society is to focus greater Stray Dog support, including financial, for the
further development of a Significantly Improved Citadel.
Substantially increase financial contributions to the Citadel though The
Society’s own Citadel Stray Dog Foundation.
The Society is to spearhead, and lead enthusiastic support for activities
in the best interests of The Citadel.
Plan and organize various fun activities celebrating the special nature, and the
many unique achievements of thousands of Stray Dogs.
Proactively demonstrate respect and loyalty to the traditions and customs of The
Citadel.
The Society is to generate multiple streams of income to become very strong
financially.
The Society is to develop strong, independent administrative support to
effectively implement the Vision of the Society.
Many of the Citadel Alumni and Citadel supporters will strive to become a member of the Stray Dog
Society.
